Giving Tree

Body
Our Giving Trees is up and loaded with tags -- and there is still time to donate.

We are currently collecting donations for the Morrow County Dog Shelter & Humane Society of Morrow County, as they were our partners at our Christmas Open House this year. We will be collecting pet related donations throughout the month of December.

Each item donated from either the Senior Giving Tree or the Pet Tree earns you an entry into our Christmas basket giveaways. We have 6 gift baskets -- place your entry/entries into the container for the basket you want to try to win.

Thank you in advance for your generosity this giving season.

The Piqua Public Library Local History Department was first organized in 1978. It is based on the private collection of Jerome Smiley, (1849-1924). The Local History Room at the Library has grown to include over 5000 printed volumes on the history and genealogy of Ohio and surrounding states. Microfilm records, Piqua High School yearbooks and an extensive reference section help complete our resources available for researchers. The Archives holds over two hundred thirty manuscript collections, 7500 small collections , and 6600 vertical files.

Library Funding

In Ohio, public libraries are funded through the Public Library Fund (PLF).

Each month, the PLF receives a percentage of the state's tax receipts that go into the state's General Revenue Fund (GRF). The PLF is set at 1.70% of the state's GRF in permanent law (07/055/2023).

Perry Cook Memorial Public Library's funding is solely through the Public Library Fund (PLF).
